My approach

The decision to start therapy can be daunting. So many questions…. What will my therapist be like? Will they understand me as my issues are so individual? Where might it lead? I know these fears because I’ve had them when I started my own therapy many years ago. My name is Ben and I’m a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work as a person-centred therapist. My individual approach to you is simple, I believe you are the expert in your own life, not me. You will dictate the direction of the therapy and my role will be to walk alongside you as we uncover, talk about and gently peel back the layers as to what brought you to me in the first place. You will set the pace and direction and what I will give you in your time with me is an empathetic, non-judgemental, non-directive approach in a comfortable and confidential space. Nothing is ever off the table as to what you can bring as this is YOUR time and in that time, I will serve you in support, compassion and consideration to the very best of my abilities. I may not have all of the answers, but I will work in partnership with you as we discover what those answers might look like together.
